Ajilon is seeking a permanent full time 3rd shift Production Supervisor in Bergen County. This position is for the 3rd shift (11:00 PM–7:00 AM) Candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree along with a minimum of 3 years working experience in a production manufacturing setting. Bilingual in English & Spanish is required!

Candidate will supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in operating a variety of machines to manufacture parts or products by performing the following duties. Specifically oversees the daily production and flow of materials in the coating, mixing, and Shipping and Receiving departments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ensures the safety, security and welfare of all employees working in and around the coating department. Ensures that all proper PPE is being worn by your subordinates, yourself, and any other persons working in the immediate area.
Observes safety and security procedures, reports potentially unsafe conditions, and uses equipment and materials properly.
Perform risk-assessment and management of change for new processes / machinery.
Execute manufacturing processes with strict compliance to GMPs and SHE regulations.
Logs onto computer system and reviews machine assignments and schedule. Follows schedule as provided by Planning Dept.
Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
Reviews product specifications and ensures that correct material is staged to be run on machine.
Ensures that operators follow specific controlled specifications and procedures in the process of fabricating silicone coated products onto various approved substrates such as film and paper.
Implements corrective measures to keep production on schedule.
Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications.
Ensures the highest quality possible, from all production processes and takes all necessary steps to eliminate or minimize internal and external non conformances.
Manage process improvements by maintaining MDI program in order to support main site KPI’s (safety, quality, delivery, inventory, productivity and performance)
Lead CI projects in order to maximize OEE (machine uptime through change overs and set ups reduction) and eliminate, or minimize, waste and scrap.
Fully involve in 5S activities to make sure work areas, machine, tools and equipment are properly maintained.
Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of products.
Participate in interviewing, coaching, training, motivation and discipline of staff. Assist in setting performance objectives and development plans to cross train team members
Support manufacturing personnel in identifying root cause and developing corrective/preventative actions associated with both customer and internal complaints.
Assist in the development of Work Instructions (WI).
Estimates, requisitions and inspects materials and orders all necessary supplies, equipment and tools for departments assigned.
Coordinates the material movement and handling of material transfers from/to both plants.
Work collaboratively with department managers, other shift supervisors and machine operators to identify and de-bottleneck production constraints with process changes that endure
Skills/Qualifications
2-5 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting a must. Bachelor’s degree (Industrial, mechanical degree) in Engineering is a plus.
Previous experience with web handling and converting processes
Previous experience in Lean Manufacturing methodologies, training and/or implementation experience.
Effective interpersonal skills to work successfully across various levels of the organization and able foster teamwork
Proven ability to train floor shop personnel.
Proven decision-making ability in complex and dynamic environment.
Computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS-Project, AutoCAD).
Working knowledge of ISO 9000.
Working knowledge of SAP
Bi –Lingual Spanish/English a must.
8-hour days, Monday – Friday, some Saturdays
Paper and/or packaging experience is strongly preferred
