Summary:

   Cash Posting Specialist needed for a busy and growing Primary Care Group that believes in delivering quality, compassionate care, to every patient, every day.  Excellent long-term career opportunity with a stable and growing medical billing office.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Processes and applies all daily cash receipts and other cash transactions, and some A/R adjustments across multiple platforms.
  • Follow all insurance payment posting procedures for electronic and manual processing, including researching, and posting take backs, refunds, and forward balances.
  • Review and interpret insurance carrier explanation of benefits (EOB) to post appropriate payment and denial codes.
  • Post all non-EDI payments, contractual allowances, rejection codes, deductibles, and copayments
  • Perform complete audit of posting transactions and ensure accuracy per established procedure.
  • Follow internal payer protocols and posting guidelines related to payer fee schedules.
  • Responsible for daily scanning, applying, and depositing manual checks not processed through EMR.
  • Focus on attaining daily productivity standards, recommending new approaches for enhancing performance and productivity when appropriate.
  • Identify and suggest ideas for efficiency and improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor or designee.
  •  Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of Cash applications or A/R experience, primary care preferred.
  • Must have working knowledge of all insurance carriers
  • Practical knowledge of general accounting policies and process
  • Experience with a variety of contractual reimbursement arrangements.
  • Knowledge working with Microsoft Office.
  • Analytical ability to troubleshoot.
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organization skills with great attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks concurrently and to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with internal and external customers.

  • Frequently required to sit or stand for periods of time or bend, stretch, or stoop.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Frequently able to use all types of vision, such as close vision or computer vision.
  • Frequently required to perform manual dexterity for use of standard office equipment.
  • Work Conditions:

  • Generally in an indoor setting.
  • Frequent use of a computer.
  • Varying schedule to include evenings, holidays, and extended hours as business dictates.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to heat/cold
