Responsibilities:

  • Create and provide coding support and education to Specialists.
  • Create SOPs for chart review and workflows for coding related holds in the systems.
  • Report and ensure accuracy charge capture/interface of billing from the billing team.
  • Provide support and lead a team of billers and coders in addition to offshore members conducting training and support virtually.
  • Maximize revenue opportunities while minimizing compliance risks by educating and guiding professionals on professional coding policies, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Develops and implements standardized physician-based coding guidelines and documentation requirements
  • Reconciles changes and analyzes productivity and reimbursement reports to identify trends and improve revenue opportunities
  • In addition to staying abreast of modern technology in coding and abstraction software and other forms of automation, Medical Coding Managers stay informed about HIPAA requirements and other coding-related issues.
  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance or Health Administration field (Preferred).
  • CPC certified. (Required)
  • 5+years' experience coding experience with extensive usage of ICD-10 and CPT codes, and Federal & State and payer-specific regulations and documentation policies for coding and billing.
  • 2+ years' experience in leading a team (Required), provider education. (Preferred)
  • Must have Flexible, adaptable and can adjust to a rapidly changing and growing environment.
  • Must have experience in building teams, processes, and implementing system successfully
