The Demand Planner is responsible for forecasting raw material usages across the value chain and works closely with Sales to manage supply and demand to meet corporate inventory goals and objectives. This position establishes key performance metrics and benchmarks relating to supply chain planning / forecasting, monitors inventory levels, purchase order activity and problem inventory levels on an ongoing basis. This position measures actual performance against goals on regular basis and presents results to senior management This person maintains all Item Master and Planning Data elements. This position works with Purchasing to keep up with the vendor updates to adjust the forecasts accordingly, with commodity management group to control material releases to manage inventory levels across the enterprise, and in a group setting with clear and concise verbal communication and written skill.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES, DUTIES & TASKS (list in order):
Create integrated processes among Operations, Sales, Purchasing, and outside suppliers to execute the planning/replenishment process
Ability to work with a team to set up/maintain the MRP process in Oracle to establish Forecasts, Store Sizes, Safety Stocks, and Purchase Orders to streamline the Planning process
Perform data analysis using Oracle database and/Datawarehouse using appropriate tools and publish reports
Create item specific forecasts over a rolling time horizon to guide PO requirements and overall inventory management
Add and maintain items and item master components and attributes including routing and bill of materials.
Ability to create a material requirement plan and/or forecast.
Establish and maintain KPI’s
Participate in SIOP process
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum three years experience in a planning role within a production/distribution environment
Strong functional skills in a Oracle ERP/MRP required
College Degree preferably in Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Manufacturing, Business or related
APICS CPIM certification a plus
Detail oriented with exceptional organization skills
Must possess effective written and verbal communication skills
Must be able to navigate in a windows based computer environment with experience in Excel and Word
