Do you have a passion for medical billing and coding? Is your background in the medical field? Ajilon is working with an established client in the Fort Worth, TX area that is seeking an experienced Insurance Biller. We are looking for someone with strong organization skills & billing and coding experience. The ideal candidate would have at least 2 years of experience in a similar role within the medical field!

Insurance Biller job functions:

  • Utilizing multiple software systems and forms of technology to research, obtain, update, verify and document information related to insurance billing
  • Review and correction of medical coding to accurately reflect services rendered
  • Accurate and timely billing of charges for medical services provided
  • Working the billing queue on a daily basis and with a sense of urgency
  • Preparation and billing of newborn charges
  • Accounts Receivable/ Insurance claim follow-up
  • Follow- up on all paid and non-paid claims for newborns as needed
  • Answer incoming calls about billing from patients or Practice Locations
  • Assist with statements when needed
  • Participate in department and employee meetings as required
  • Posting receipts such as copay or deductibles; requires daily balancing and EOM balancing
  • Attend all meetings and review TMHP website to obtain updates and training on any new code information, or coverage changes

    Skills/Technical Requirements:

  • Phone/Message system knowledge: (i.e. hold, transfer, forward, phone mail greetings, etc.)
  • Proficiently operates computer(i.e. Outlook and ability to learn all required software)
  • Typing/data entry and modification, excellent oral, written and documentation skills
  • Excellent Customer Service/ Professional telephone manners
  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in oral, written or diagram form
  • General math skills for basic required calculations
  • Understanding and strict adherence to HIPAA regulations with regards to patient information
  • Read, write, analyze, interpret and understand day to day office procedures or state regulations
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from manager, parents and insurance agencies
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and Insurance carriers
  • Knowledge of medical billing and collection practices
  • Knowledge of basic medical coding and third party operating procedures and practices
