Procurement Specialist

Ajilon specializes in staffing for Supply Chain Positions and if you have the experience listed below, we are interested in meeting you. We currently have a contract to hire opportunity with a company located in Middlesex County, NJ.

If you have 3+ years of experience in Procurement and have previously worked with cost reduction, training of new employees in the logistics department, and working with vendors, please apply online.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the business units as the strategic sourcing function across spend categories.
  • Provide strategic sourcing leadership to deliver on company initiatives related to cost reduction, cost avoidance, supplier rationalization and standardizing purchasing practices.
  • Train and develop purchasing teams across business units
  • Monitoring and collaborating in a cross-functional plant environment (Marketing, R&D, Manufacturing, etc.) to determine material requirements and supplier lead-times to support 100% daily schedule adherence at the factory
  • Partner with materials management team to ensure on-time purchasing of raw materials and components, as well as stabilizing days-of-stock for suppliers
  • Manage the negotiations of contracts and communication with vendors
  • Qualification:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a production environment; preferably in sourcing/procurement
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Solid exposure to SAP R3 or PeopleSoft
  • Bachelor’s degree required
