Purchasing Manager
Do you have experience purchasing in the construction industry? Ajilon is currently working with a client on a direct hire position in Cranbury, NJ. As a Purchasing Manager you will be responsible for procuring goods and services from qualified vendors, negotiating the best available price and service while directing and administering the purchasing function to support this growing organization.
Compensation: 70,000-75,000
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the bidding and vendor selection processes yield cost savings
- Develop and implement purchasing policies and procedures
- Select appropriate vendors and business partners based upon strict guidelines
- Confer with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery
- Work within the operating budget while monitoring trends in purchasing
- Determine method of procurement, such as direct purchase or bid
- Prepare all purchase orders or bid requests
- Review bid proposals and negotiate contracts within budgetary limits and scope of authority
- Address defects and deficiencies as required to determine root causes and take corrective action
- Review invoices for accuracy and approve for payment
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) and three to five years’ related experience or equivalent
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong customer service focus
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Good project management skills
