Purchasing Supervisor

Ajilon is partnering with our client in the heart of Washington DC to find an experienced Purchasing Supervisor who can lead a team of 6 purchasers and administer all procurement activities for the team.  This is an exciting direct hire position that includes a generous relocation package with a nonprofit organization that supports Federally Funded Research and Development Centers.  As Purchasing Supervisor, you will enjoy analyzing procurement for a multitude of companies and gain broad knowledge of industry trends in a robust environment that’s focused on developing long-term relationships with experts in the field.

If you have 5+ years of purchase managing experience with 2+ years in a supervisory role, are highly self-motivated, and enjoy working in a fast-paced work environment then this position may be exactly what you’re looking for! 

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and train procurement team on proper methodologies for developing Requests for Quotation/Proposal, performing price analysis, conducting and documenting negotiations, source selection, issuance of Purchase Orders, maintaining of file documentation, and closeout of Purchase Orders for goods and services in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Define and provide department goal setting and direction based on key performance indicators
  • Review and analyze operating reports with procurement team and take appropriate action
  • Oversee various contract types (FFP, T&M, CPFF), contract modifications and exercising of options, contract termination and close outs
  • Perform and review risk analyses of Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to include compliance metrics
  • Advise staff and make decisions regarding subcontract/subcontractor management approaches
  • Evaluate subcontract proposals for solicitation compliance and potential risks
  • Perform price and cost analysis resulting from negotiation of price/cost terms and other subcontract provisions
  • Provide guidance and leadership to cross-functional business team members to identify risk assessment and mitigation

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field required
  • Knowledge of FARs and DFARs for government contracting
  • Experience with various contract types, such as FFP, CPFF, and T&M
  • Skilled at analyzing data using price trend analysis and cost factoring
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point) and DelTek Costpoint

Skills:

  • Capable of meeting deadlines and work under pressure
  • Ability to work closely with all levels of staff and management team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills

Experience: 5+ years of experience working with defense contractors in purchasing and negotiation procedures and 2+ years of supervisory experience

Employment Type: Full-time, Direct Hire

Compensation: $100,000 - $110,000 USD

Work Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, 40 hours per week
