Overview:

The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for ensuring customer product orders are routed and shipped accurately and in the most timely and cost-effective manner. This role involves direct communication with multiple freight carriers, the Customer Service Department, the Shipping Department, and the Warehouse Manager. The position is overseeing the Shipping office and manages two Shipping Coordinator’s.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Processing BOLs, pick tickets, and other day-to-day needs surrounding shipping operations
  • Handling claims and ensuring the claims process is settled with both the customer and the logistics provider
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between the shipping department and the warehouse team as well as between the shipping department and the customer service team
  • Sourcing for trucking options & keeping the freight rate book up to date
  • Identify points in the shipping operations that can be streamlined and implement the necessary changes
  • Gathering quotes for LTL shipments
  • Set up special loads and get quotes as requested (for example to prepare for company trade shows)
  •  

    Must Haves:

  • Prior exposure to ERP systems; good Excel skills would be applicable as well
  • High school degree or applicable work experience
  •  

    Good to have:

    Some exposure to either trucking & logistics, partial truckload/full truckload shipments from a warehousing perspective, or prior management experience in an applicable field is important but don’t need to have experience with all of these

    This role is 100% on site in Algona, WA and works Monday-Friday.
