Seeking experienced Supply Chain Manager in the Chesapeake, VA / Elizabeth City, NC area.  

 

Supply Chain Manager:

The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for all aspects of sourcing and procuring production-related materials and parts. This includes chemical (resins, glass, bonding agents), electronics, and MRO. Responsible for managing supplier relations, providing guidance to inventory management team and reporting to C-Suite.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilites:

  • Managing all aspects of RFQ/RFP Process
  • Approving purchase orders and service agreements over specified amount
  • Managing Purchasing Supervisor(s)
  • Acting as Companies legal representative for negotiating terms and conditions of procurement services
  • Develops strategies to streamline stockroom procedures and reduce inventory relative to overall unit goals and objectives, including recommending, evaluating, and implementing efficiency and quality improvements in material staging and presentation by utilizing lean tools and principles (such as Kanban, once-piece flow, line-of-sight management and FIFO).
  • Working within Management Systems to integrate lean tools, new technologies, and information systems to improve efficiency and streamline operations
  • Manage Production Planning staff

    Qualifications:

  • 3+ years in Supply Chain Management role
  • Manufacturing industry experience ( Automotive Preferred, Production Preferred)
  • Experience with low volume, high mix production/manufacturing
  • Bachelors degree
  • Ability to work on-site at physical location.
